Maths Week England

On Monday 13th November the whole school dressed up as Rock Stars to launch the Times Tables Rock Stars competition 'England Rocks'. We also launched the Young Enterprise project - The Tenner Challenge, where all classes will invest £10 and try to create profit to reinvest and ultimately spend!

Many classes also took part in the Numberella Escape Room challenges - which were great fun!

We also had a visits from Mrs Oldham and Mr Kibbey, parents of children at our school, who have very interesting jobs at different banks. Mrs Oldham, who works at The Bank of England taught us about what the Bank of England does, the gold that is stored there and how secure the building is. She also showed all the features of each banknote and how to check whether they are real. Mr Kibby, a parent and Governor of the school also visited some classes. He spoke to us about his job at Lloyds Bank as a Client Liaison Officer, where he is responsible for working with big businesses loaning large amounts of money.

We also had some lovely Maths themed story times and many other activities throughout the week.
