In Term 1, Earth class learnt about Monarchs and answered the question, 'What is a monarch?' They found out about the role of a monarch and compared the monarchy today with the monarchy in the past. Pupils investigated how William the Conqueror became King and learnt how he used castles to rule. The children studied different types of castles and considered how these evolved over time. We  visited The Tower of London as part of this unit of work.
