Foundation Governors

Rev. Mike Warren

I'm married to Sarah, and we’ve lived in Tunbridge Wells on and off for nearly 30 years.

I’ve been Vicar of St Peter's Church since 2004, and as an ex-officio Foundation Governor I have a particular role in ensuring that the Christian ethos of the school is healthy for each child, member of staff and the whole community, whatever their beliefs.

I have a particular interest in and experience of implementing good governance in the voluntary sector.

Mr Phil Peddar

I am married to Lucy, a secondary trained teacher, and we have three young children, two of whom attend St James’ CoE Primary School.

My favourite subjects at school were Economics and Spanish which I went on to study at university. I spent 5 years working in financial services in London before a change of direction in 2012 when Lucy and I moved to Spain. We worked for the Christian student movement in universities in northern Spain and decided to commit to full-time Christian ministry in the long term. We returned to London in 2014 where I studied Theology and then moved to Tunbridge Wells in 2017 where I became Assistant Minister of St Peter’s Church.

I have very much enjoyed getting to know pupils and staff over the past 4 years through my involvement in assemblies and church services at Harvest, Christmas and Easter. I look forward to serving the school in new ways as a foundation governor.

As a family, we enjoy park trips, bike rides and going to the seaside together. I am keen on all kinds of music and enjoy numerous sports from football and tennis to snooker and snowboarding.

Mr Matthew Aldous

I live in Tunbridge Wells with my wife Abi and we have two children, both of whom attended St. Peter’s School and are now at secondary school.

Having worked in marketing communications for the past 22 years, I have experience across a range of business sectors with my current role being in the ‘not-for-profit’ sector, working for predominately Christian Relief and Development organisations.

Being members of St. Peter’s Church, it is a great privilege for me to be able to serve as a Foundation Governor at St. Peter’s School.

I enjoy spending time with my family which includes taking our dog, Ziggy, on walks to explore and enjoy the local countryside – whatever the weather. I also enjoy running and am the singer in a local covers band and a member of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Orpheus Male Voice Choir.
