Co-opted Governors

Mr Charles Brock

I have lived in Tunbridge Wells with my wife Iwona since 2012 and have two children at St Peter’s – Marie and Alice. I am a Trustee of the PTA and am keen to help the school in any way that I can. I see education as a partnership between school and parents and I was fortunate to be elected as a Parent Governor in 2017 and re-appointed as a Co-Opted Governor in 2021. I am also the Treasurer and a trained Befriender for the local branch of Sands, the stillbirth charity.

I have a financial, governance and business background from 20 years as a Fund Manager and then as Manager of a community based children’s activity charity in Inner London. I chair the Resources Committee as well as being Vice-Chair of Governors and was involved in many aspects of the move to the new school.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, trying to help and guide the girls as they grow up (!) and enjoy a round of golf, reading and keeping up with current affairs. There is also a rumour that I double as Father Christmas for PTA events!

Mrs Maddy Walton

I live locally in Hawkenbury and am excited to be a new co-opted governor. I am looking forward to discovering more about St Peters and getting to know it's staff, students and families.

I am currently working part time leading a team at an environmental organisation. In the past, I have spent 5 years working in the education sector, supporting students through a school-based charity, as well as spending a few years as a civil engineer.

I hope to bring my knowledge and experience of supporting students and working with families to my role as governor at St Peters.

In my free time, my 2 year old daughter keeps me busy and we enjoy getting out into the local countryside and exploring new recipes in the kitchen.
