Living Land Show
On Thursday 2nd May, Mercury class went on our class trip to the Living Land Show at the Kent Showground in Detling. Linking to our past Geography unit from the Autumn on Food, the Living Land Show was a one-day event aimed at educating children in farming, agriculture, horticulture and the countryside. Children had the opportunity to visit different farm animals, touch and taste different local produce, enjoy farm machinery demonstrations, and even saw some dancing sheep! With over 2,800 children from across the county attending this event, vendors from across Kent were able to demonstrate why they are important to the food production of the UK and why Kent is known as the 'Garden of England'. Here is a collection of some of the things we explored and learnt about from our excursion.
